Resumen

In the last decades, Brazil has constituted itself as the largest producer of sugarcane in the world, bringing technological advances in the sugar and alcohol sector, with respect to industry and production, obtaining not only traditional products such as ethanol and sugar, but also by-products derived from residues of the production process occurring within the mills themselves. With increasing demand, production and consumption, there is also an increase in the production of waste, especially those generated during industrial processes. The objective of this work was to qualitatively catalog waste from the sugarcane processing of a sugar mill located in the municipality of Santa Rita - Paraíba, and to present the feasibility of reuse and by - products. For this purpose, data were collected by means of on-site visits and by means of bibliographical research, forms of reutilization for each of the residues were proposed. The waste and by-products produced in the study plant were cataloged. It is concluded that the processing of sugarcane in a mill entails a series of residues coming from the stages of production of more varied concepts, thus, it becomes necessary to reuse each capacity of these wastes for other activities, generating less environmental impact and providing a greater use of the sugarcane life cycle.
